WELCOME to my site!

It’s been an amazing 4 months choosing the songs for my new double album ‘Naughty and Nice’, from assembling the arrangers, my incredible musical director Michael Bell and the ever-so-talented band. I have loved every minute! The recording weekend where we put down 19 songs went without a hitch. I wanted to record the vocals in the studio with the band because I wanted the whole connection with me and the band to be organic, truthful and in the moment. I think the finished product portrays this; my songs choices were all about the story-telling whether it was me being naughty or nice. From Jacques Brel, Doris Day, a 1970 hit by the band ‘Chicago’, ‘Big Spender’, Joan Baez… this album really is a chocolate box selection showing off my very eclectic taste in music and the many hats I like to wear. It’s also a bit of a tribute to how colourful we women really are!

The remainder of my team outside of the studio have been amazing especially the stunning photos by Emma Brittenden and my album designer Dan Cardiff.

I am so excited to showcase ‘Naughty and Nice’ in the concerts I have coming up in Wellington and Christchurch in May and in New York in June.

Please feel free to drop me an email, I love hearing from you. And, for the more technically advanced I have an Ali Harper Musician/Band facebook page and you can also contact me on my twitter page
